The Tour de France des Chefs by Slaine Grew
Just before the hotel closed for the winter, I had the opportunity to welcome and meet a very brave girl, Slaine Grew ... An old cook who turned into a photographer.
Indeed, Slaine is ambitious and determined because she has undertaken a Tour de France des Chefs by bike! (More information on her page Facebook).
For her, this would allow her to meet Chefs and their cuisine while taking the time to visit France and "take the time to live"
Unbelievable!
At 28, this young Parisian of Irish origin currently lives near Tours, the starting town of her Tour de France, which she left for a few months since June 1, 2014. She hopes to arrive in Paris, the final stage of her Tour de France, the first week of January 2015!
Free as air...
She did not determine an exact route, she only planned a vague route which she modified according to her desires and encounters. After visiting a Chef who can give him his advice to meet other Chefs, she can decide to make a crochet to always be in the right place, at the right time...
In a few figures:
From June 1st until now (late October), Slaine can be proud of the work already done! It may count:
- 24 stage cities
- 25 Chefs met including Olivier Da Silva (Restaurant l'OdaS in Rouen), Yoann Conte (La Maison Bleue in Veyrier-du-Lac), Davy Tissot (Restaurant les Terrasses de Lyon, Villa Florentine in Lyon), Françoise Mutel (La Maison dans le Parc in Nancy), Valérie Costa (La Promesse in Toulon)
- 4000 km on foot
- 5000 photo shoots
- more than 60 tasty dishes
- 1 Chief's refusal (the name will be kept confidential)
- 2 sizes of lost pants! 🙂
Hat!
Bravo Slaine for your courage and especially good luck for the completion of your project ... When's the book?
Julien Diaz.
